Trinity happenings

Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, will hold fourth Sunday in Lent worship Service of the Word, at 9 a.m. The Rev. Donald Hayn, interim pastor, presides. Coffee house fellowship follows.

Sunday School Power Hour begins at 10:15 a.m. for ages 3 through adult.

Midweek Wednesday worship opportunities continue through March 20. Noon worship is followed by a soup lunch. Each Wednesday evening there will be a soup supper at 6 p.m., then "Holden Evening Prayer" worship at 7 p.m. Immediately following the 7 p.m. worship is a Lenten study based on the movie "Chocolat," reflecting on issues of grace, forgiveness and transformation.

"Coffeehouse of Hope" will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 9. This evening with the Trinity Praise Band features vocalists Brain Hoffner and Becky McFadden. All proceeds will be given to "Dylan and Gavin's Rainbow" ministry, which was established by the Krum family of Lehighton, to offer support to families when a child faces a serious illness or condition, and also offers support in the event of a death of a child.

Easter egg hunt

A Community Easter Egg Hunt will be held in Luther Hall, Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 23. The hunt for children ages 1-6, will be from 1-2 p.m.; and for children 7-12, it will be from 2-3 p.m. Contact the church office at (610) 377-4303 to register your child's age. Registration deadline is March 15. This is a free event. Those attending should bring a basket to collect eggs.

Spring cantata

A Spring Cantata "Here is Love" by Larry Shakley will be performed by the Trinity Lutheran Church choir accompanied by a small orchestra, under the direction of choir director Susan Lovejoy, on Saturday, March 23, at 3 p.m. at the church.

Holy Week services

Holy Week worship services at Trinity Lutheran will take place at 9 a.m., Palm Sunday, March 24, with Holy Communion and distribution of palm fronds. Sunday School Power Hour students will take part in a palm procession around the block, followed by themed crafts in Luther Hall starting at 10:15 a.m.

Maundy Thursday worship with Holy Community will be held at 7 p.m. March 28. Students currently receiving instructions for communion will receive their First Holy Communion during the 7 p.m. worship service. Good Tenebrae service will be at 7 p.m. Easter Sunday worship with Holy Communion will be at 8 and 10 a.m. on March 31.
