State police at Fern Ridge are seeking the whereabouts of a Monroe County resident as a fugitive from justice.

Troopers said on Saturday, March 3, about 8:50 a.m. they went to 1156 Green Mount Drive, in Blakeslee, Chestnuthill Township, after they learned that Justin Miller, was residing there. Miller is wanted by authorities in New Jersey for vehicle theft and assaulting a police officer.Upon arriving Miller said the officers and fled the home through a rear door. Troopers gave chase and a foot pursuit ensued. Troopers lost sight of Miller. A manhunt was then initiated with troopers from Fern Ridge, Lehighton, and Swiftwater assisting along with officers from the Pocono Mountain Regional police and a search dog. A state police helicopter out the Hazleton barracks also assisted in the search.Miller was not found. The vehicle he stole in New Jersey was located near the residence.Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Miller is asked to call troopers at (570)-646-2271.
