Published June 28. 2013 05:05PM

A rock throwing incident in McAdoo earned a Hazleton man a citation.

Police were dispatched to 123 E. Blaine St. at 11:03 p.m. on June 20 on a report of kids throwing rocks at vehicles. On scene one of the victims pointed out the occupants of a vehicle across the street as the actors who threw the rocks.

Inside the suspect vehicle were a female juvenile from Ringtown and her passenger, Alexander Meyers, of 21 S. Hazlebrook Road, Hazleton. As the officer spoke with the occupants he detected a strong odor of marijuana wafting from the vehicle. He asked for and received permission to search the vehicle as well as the female driver's purse.

The search turned up a glasslike smoking device and 20 small bags of suspected marijuana. Meyer claimed the pipe and bags were his.

He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
