Published June 25. 2013 05:03PM

Two persons sustained minor injuries in a three-vehicle crash at 11:39 a.m. June 15 at the intersection of SR903 and Old Stage Road in Penn Forest Township.

State police at the Fern Ridge said Steven E. Hayes, 20, of Jim Thorpe, and Diane M. Clarke, 71, of Albrightsville, drivers of two of the vehicles, were hurt in the crash. Police said Clarke was transported to the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton, by the Lehighton EMS.

The third driver, Michael W. Hafler, 48, of Warminster, was uninjured.

Police said the accident happened as Hayes, driving a 2005 Ford Focus, was southbound on 903 and attempted to turn left onto Old Stage Road as a 2006 Kia Optima operated by Clarke was traveling northbound and proceeding through the intersection at the time. Police said the Optima struck the passenger's side of the Focus, which proceeded to travel into a 2001 Saab driven by Hafler. The latter was stopped at the intersection traveling west on Old Stage Road.

Police said all of the vehicles were towed from the scene. Police were also assisted by the Penn Forest Fire Company.

Police said Hayes will be cited for having caused the accident.
