I-80 lane shut down after crash

Interstate 80 eastbound in Carbon County was shut down for about three hours due to a one-vehicle crash at 8:45 p.m. June 21 in Kidder Township.

State police at the Fern Ridge said Rodolfo Angus-Medina, 40, of New York, N.Y., the driver a tractor trailer that crashed, was uninjured but will be charged for driving on roadways laned for traffic.Police said he was eastbound at mile marker 274.5 when the rig, a 1999 International Harvester Prosleeper, traveled off the right side of the roadway onto the shoulder and struck a guard rail. It continued to ride the rail for about 60 feet before coming to rest down an embankment off the right side of the interstate.Police said the rig was towed from the scene.Police said the right lane eastbound was closed, although traffic did not have to be detoured. The Lake Harmony, Kidder Township, and Albrightsville fire departments assisted police at the scene.
