Crashes probed on I81 in Schuylkill

State police at Frackville reported investigating two crashes along Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County on Monday, June 24.

The first crash occurred about 8:40 a.m. in Ryan Township. Troopers said Marta Lebron-Texidor, 45, of Reading, was driving a 1995 Dodge Neon southbound when she lost control when a tractor with trailer changed lanes in front of her. The Neon entered the west berm and struck a tree causing it to rollover. The Neon came to final rest on the west berm on its roof facing west.

The driver and two passengers, Karen Velazquez, 26, and Dionisio Velazquez, 48, both of Reading, all sustained minor injuries and all were taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-E. Norwegian St., Pottsville. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Troopers cited Lebron-Texidor for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

The second crash occurred about 1:07 p.m. in Butler Township. Troopers said Ralph Imbimbo, 53, of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., was driving a 2004 Ford F250 truck northbound when he traveled onto the west berm and across the median where his vehicle lost a front tire.

The truck traveled into the southbound lanes where it rolled over onto its side and struck the guard rail. The truck came to final rest in the right southbound lane on its side facing east.

Imbimbo sustained a minor injury and was transported to the SMC-East. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Troopers cited Imbimbo for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
