Coaldale woman cited for assault
A Coaldale woman has been cited for punching her boyfriend on June 9.
Morgan T. Kevenaar, 24, of 165 Fourth St., faces charges of simple assault and harassment.
According to an affidavit of probable cause filed with District Judge Stephen Bayer of Tamaqua, here's what happened:
At 9:53 p.m. Officer Joseph Krebs was dispatched to the home on a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival he spoke with the victim, who said he and his girlfriend, Kevenaar, had been fighting for the past couple of days.
He told police Kevenaar had assaulted him the day before, and police were called. But the situation had calm down for the night. The victim told police that the next day he had gone with his son to a baseball game, then tried to talk with Kevenaar when he returned home. But she became upset, he said, and they argued again.
He said she took a walk at about 9 p.m. and when she returned he was holding his baby daughter. Kevenaar demanded he give her the child, the victim said.
Kevenaar took the baby and then punched the victim on the left ear. Krebs observed a red mark, a cut and swelling on the man's ear.
The victim gave police a written statement. Kevenaar was arrested and taken to the police station.
