Three teams still unbeaten

The Eastern Schuylkill Recreation Commission (ESRC) summer basketball league completed its second full week of action on Wednesday night in Tamaqua, with R.R. Frey Services picking up a win over Batter's Box to head the top of the standings.

Joining R.R. Frey as the only undefeated teams remaining are Mike Stower Coal & Oil and defending league champion Ryan's Oil & Heating, who both remain a half-game back in the standings.

Monday's Results

Lucky's Deli

-Ryan's Oil & Heating

Ryan's Oil & Heating came away with a 63-43 win over Lucky's Deli to start off Monday's schedule.

Ted Styka scored 17 points in his season debut, while Joe Schaeffer and Jeff Peel followed close behind with 12 points apiece.

Bill Cuff drained four three pointers for 12 points in Lucky's loss.

Dom N Ali

-Mike Stower Coal & Oil

Mike Stower's Coal & Oil posted a 78-66 victory against Dom N Ali Steaks & Seafood.

Ethan Eichorst had a game-high 22 points for Mike Stower's, with Soko Mujovic (15 points) and Damian Fritz (13 points) not far behind.

Matt Yaich tallied 17 points in the loss for Dom N Ali's.

Ziegler's Auto Repair -DJ 101

DJ 101 ended the night with a decisive win over Ziegler's Auto Repair & Towing by a final score of 78-46.

Mike Conley had a game-high 32 points along with a pair of three pointers to pace DJ 101.

Warren Teasley and Mike Kunkel both scored 16 points for Ziegler's.

Wednesday's Results

DJ 101-Lucky's Deli

DJ 101 posted its second win of the week with a hard-fought 51-48 victory over Lucky's Deli.

Mike Conley had 17 points to lead the DJ 101 offensive attack.

For Lucky's Deli, Ed Michalik scored 15 points in the losing effort.

Batter's Box-R.R. Frey

In a contest featuring perennial contenders, R.R. Frey Services took down Batter's Box by a score of 69-57 to move to 3-0 on the season.

Ryan Achenbach had a game-high 26 points, while Jeremy Frey and Jimmy Barron each chipped in 14 points apiece for R.R. Frey.

Logan Stano's 16 point-effort was tops for Batter's Box.

Ziegler's Auto Repair -Vesuvio's

Vesuvio's capped off an exciting week with a 72-56 victory over Ziegler's Auto Repair & Towing.

Carlos Rivas played a scrappy game for Vesuvio's with a team-high 23 points, while Joe Madochick scored 16 of his own.

Mike Kunkel knocked down 26 points, including four three-pointers, for Ziegler's in the losing effort.
