No one is hurt in headon crash

The drivers of vehicles involved in a headon crash at 3:45 p.m. June 13, on Toll Road in Chestnuthill Township escaped injuries, according to state police at the Fern Ridge barracks.

Police said the accident happened as Antonia J. Simonik, 23, of Blakeslee, driving a 1991 Volvo 240, was southbound and failed to negotiate a right curve in the roadway. Police said the vehicle entered the oncoming lane of travel where it struck a 1996 Saturn SL1 headon. The vehicle was operated by Robert E. Hughart, 43, of Kunkletown.

Police said both vehicles were disabled and towed from the scene.

Police said Simonik will be charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic.

The West End Ambulance and Fire Department assisted police at the scene.
