Three arrested for theft incidents

Published June 19. 2013 05:03PM

Three Monroe County residents have been arrested, two jailed, for theft incidents, and one for hiding a suspect.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said Anthony Alogna, 29, and Heather Stiastny, 21, both of Tobyhanna, have been accused of stealing golf carts and golf cart batteries from within the Arrowhead Lakes development. They then took the batteries to a recycling center where they received cash for the items.

Ignazio Alogna, 79, of Tobyhanna, has been charged with hiding Anthony Alogna at his residence when police were there to serve an arrest warrant.

Anthony Alogna and Stiastny were committed to the county prison in Snydersville after failing to post $30,000 bail each. Ignazio Alogna was released on unsecured bail.

The arrests were the result of a three-month investigation, police said. Arrowhead security assisted in the matter, police added.
