Carbon club cited by liquor board

A Carbon County social club has been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board for violation of the liquor code.

Lansford Legion Home Association, 3 W. Ridge St., Lansford, was cited for violation of the code by possessing or operating gambling devices or paraphernalia or permitted gambling or lotteries, poolselling and/or bookmaking on their licensed premises. The alleged violation occurred on May 1.

The charge will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.
