Carbon cyclist injured in crash
A Carbon County motorcyclist was flown to a hospital following a crash in Schuylkill County. State police at Frackville said the accident occurred about 11:25 p.m. Saturday, June 15, along SR339 in Mahanoy Township.
Troopers said Enn Poeldnurk, 24, of Nesquehoning, was driving a 2008 Suzuki GSXR 750 southbound and drove off the road while rounding a left curve causing him to lose control. The cycle went off on the west berm, traveled about 75 feet and brushed up against a telephone pole. The cycle continued southwest about 25 feet and came to final rest in a grass/brush area west of the road.
Poeldnurk was flown by Lifeflight helicopter to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, for treatment of injuries. Assisting troopers at the scene were volunteers from the Citizens Fire Company and West End Rescue, both of Mahanoy City, ambulances from Mahanoy City and Shenandoah, and Mahanoy City police.
Troopers added that Poeldnurk was cited for the crash.
