Two jailed for assault incident
Two Carbon County residents were jailed on Saturday, June 15, following an incident at their residence.
Troopers said about 6:30 p.m. they responded to the residence of Stacey Lee Seifert, 35, and Raymond Leroy Seifert, 55, of 102 Indian Trail, Jim Thorpe, Penn Forest Township.
Troopers said the two were involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical. Stacey Seifert allegedly struck Raymond Seifert in the face resulting in a cut above his left eye. Raymond Seifert allegedly pushed Stacey Seifert causing her to fall and strike her head on a cabinet in the kitchen. Stacey Seifert sustained a one and a half-inch laceration above her left eye that required stitches.
Both were placed under arrest and each charged with simple assault and harassment. Both were arraigned before on-call District Judge Casimir Kosciolek, of Lansford. Raymond Seifert failed to post $3,000 straight cash bail and Stacey Seifert failed to post $2,000 straight cash bail, and both were committed to the county prison in Nesquehoning.
