Assault incident being probed

State police at Lehighton reported on an assault incident being probed and arrests for harassment.

The assault incident occurred in the area of 320 Bridge St., Weissport, about 3:46 a.m. on Saturday, June 15.

Troopers said Richard Bennick, no age given, and Danielle Bennick, 17, who they listed as victims, were involved in a verbal argument with Tiffany Hawk, 23, Kenny Hawk, 44, and Debra Hawk, 47, all of Weissport. Troopers allege the listed suspects assaulted the two victims verbally and physically.

Troopers said Tara Hunter, 34, of Palmerton, was cited for harassment for allegedly repeatedly leaving text messages and voice mail on the phone of Pedro Capinha, 28, of 90 Peter Ave., Palmerton, after being told to stop. The incident occurred on Friday, June 14, about 6:05 p.m.

Troopers said Bernard David Hartopp, 30, and Hillary Ruth Ryan, 26, of 42 Honeysuckle Lane, Jim Thorpe, Penn Forest Township, engaged in a mutual fight about 1:38 p.m. on June 13 at the residence, as a result of a domestic incident.

The investigation into the incident is continuing, troopers said.

Troopers said Michael Shafer, 28, of Palmerton, was cited for public drunkenness for being mainifestly intoxicated along Red Hill Road, in Lower Towamensing Township, about 1:40 a.m. on June 13.
