Summer camp for J.T. students begins Monday

The Jim Thorpe Summer Recreation Program, a Summer Day Camp program at Memorial Park for children who reside in the Jim Thorpe Area School District, starts on Monday, June 17.
This program, which is coordinated by the Jim Thorpe Rotary Club, is for kids who are currently in second through sixth grades. There is no cost to the students.
This will be the 17th year for this program which runs from June 17 to August 9, Monday through Friday.
The morning session is from 9 a.m. to noon, and the afternoon session is from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Children attending all day must bring a lunch.
All children must sign in and out daily and campers may attend any or all sessions.
The program will have activities such as arts, crafts, sports, games, and fun, plus weekly "specials" will be offered.
Each Wednesday, there will be a trip to The Mauch Chunk Lake Park.
A bus will transport the campers from Memorial Park to the Lake at 10 a.m.
There will be no program on July 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
