Mischief incident reported in Monroe

State police at Lehighton are investigating a criminal mischief incident that occurred in Monroe County.

Troopers said Devon Stern, 16, of 1212 Old Sawmill Road, in Kunkletown, Polk Township, was mowing the lawn at the above location when he heard a loud bang. Troopers said unknown suspects threw a soda bottle filled with vinegar and baking soda, which combined has a chemical reaction that causes an explosion.

No damage or injuries were reported in the incident that occurred about 10:15 a.m. on June 6.
