Nesquehoning Hose Company receives grant

Nesquehoning Hose Company No. 1 recently was named the recipient of a $5,000 grant from the AMETEK Foundation.

The grant will allow the Nesquehoning Hose Company to perform some much-needed repairs to one of its firetrucks."We certainly appreciate the contributions of the volunteer members of the fire company, which also protects our facilities," said Chad Hammerly, manager of the AMETEK plant in Nesquehoning, who presented the fire department with the check.Established in 1960, the AMETEK Foundation operates separately from AMETEK Inc. and serves as the principal funding entity for the company's charitable contributions. It has supported a number of area organizations over the years, including Panther Valley Elementary School through the 100 Book Challenge and St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital.
