Published July 31. 2013 05:03PM

A wanted person was nabbed by Nesquehoning police recently.

On July 17 Officers Timothy Wuttke and Steven Homanko received information that a male wanted by Lehigh County probation office would be coming through the borough in a silver Hyundai Tuscon.

The officers stopped a vehicle matching the description in which an occupant matched the description of the wanted person.

A passenger in the vehicle identified himself as Andrea Jenkins. But the ID was false as was the birth date given. While investigating Jenkins' identity his wife, Stephanie Roman, also in the vehicle, also gave a false name for Jenkins. Jenkins then ran from the scene and following a short chase was taken into custody by Homanko, who suffered a hand injury during the struggle.

A wallet was found in the glove compartment with a New York identification belonging to a Leon Jenkins. The photograph in the ID matched the person police had in custody.

As a result police charged Jenkins with false identification to law enforcement, simple assault, and resisting arrest. Roman was charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
