Theft of vehicle being investigated

Published July 29. 2013 05:06PM

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating the theft of a motor vehicle that occurred over the past weekend. Troopers are also probing a theft from a vehicle incident.

Troopers said Larissa Pywowariw, 18, of Bordentown, N.J., parked her 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, gold and silver in color, in a parking lot of the Appalachian Trail, along Blue Mountain Rd., in West Brunswick Township, about 5:50 p.m. on Friday, July 26.

She and three friends, all from Bordentown, left their cellular phones, wallets, and several personal items in the vehicle. They then walked to a nearby location and placed the keys to the vehicle in a personal bag before going swimming. The four went to a different location to swim without taking the bag with them.

After swimming the four returned and found the bag missing. They then walked to where they had parked the Jeep and it was missing.

The Jeep has New Jersey registration plate X89DEK. There is a V8 emblem on the side and the headlights should appear "fogged."

The theft from vehicle incident was reported by David Kolbe, 58, of 404 Frieden Manor, Schuylkill Haven, Wayne Township. He reported his unlocked vehicle was entered and removed was a green and yellow 2005 John Deere gasoline powered weed wacker. The theft occurred sometime between 9:30 p.m. on July 25, and 9 a.m. on July 26.
