On July 18, our Governor Corbett signed into law S.B. 591. It provides for the transmission of money (among other things) to the general budget.Yes, now Property Tax Rent/Rebate money for seniors, widows, disabled, will now be deposited into the general fund to balance the budget next year.I remember when gaming was coming to PA; Governor Rendell said that all property taxes would be abolished with revenues received by casino monies. Of course, "every time their lips move…" Give or take, $100 million dollars of property tax relief might or might not be available next year.And so the saga continues on how to walk all over senior citizens and the disabled for filthy lucre's sake. Rest assured that the legislators who devised this devilish scheme will rest well in their beds, while seniors might not have a home to live in.Rich SaporitoWest Mifflin, PA
