Monroe arrests

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on the following arrests made by officers.

On July 4 about 3:30 p.m. Lorelle Kowalski, 20, of Pocono Lakes, was stopped at state routes 115 and 940, in Blakeslee, for a traffic violation. In speaking with her police smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

Police located marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the car under the driver's seat. She was placed under arrest for drug violations and taken to police headquarters for processing.

She was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and traffic violations.

On Friday, July 29, about 3:35 p.m. officers responded to the Wal-Mart store in Mount Pocono for a female in custody for retail theft.

The suspect was identified as Regina North-Padron, 51, of Tobyhanna. She was charged with retail theft for taking $61.55 worth of merchandise without paying for it.

Also on Friday, about 7 p.m., officers responded to the Wal-Mart store for a report of an intoxicated female. On scene officers found Luz Rivera, 44, of Mount Pocono, in an extremely intoxicated condition, barely able to stand or talk, police said.

She was placed under arrest for public drunkenness and placed in the county prison pending arraignment. Police noted they found in her possession a quart bottle of Colt 45, cans of Busch beer and a bottle of vodka.
