Published July 24. 2013 05:02PM

Blue Mountain Health System physician, John Keenan, DPM, will offer a free educational seminar on Diabetic Foot Care at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, in the community room at Blue Mountain Health System Gnaden Huetten Campus, 211 N. 12th St. in Lehighton.

Diabetes can be dangerous to your feet even a small cut can produce serious consequences.

Nerve damage can take away the feeling in your feet and diabetes can reduce blood flow to your feet, making it harder to heal an injury or resist infection. Consequently, you may not notice a foreign object in your shoe, which could result in a blister or a sore that could lead to an infection or a non-healing wound that could put you at risk for an amputation.

Learn what you can do to avoid serious foot problems that could result in losing a toe, foot or leg. Please call to register at (610) 377-7070.
