Man allegedly stole jewelry from parents

Mahoning Township police have charged a man with stealing jewelry from his parents and selling it.

Jay Abelovsky, 25, of Mahoning Township was charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

Police said that on July 1, a resident of Jamestown Street reported jewelry had been stolen from her home.

Police determined that the Abelovsky had stolen and sold the jewelry.

The stolen items were recovered by police at a gold and coin store in Lehighton.
