State police at Frackville are investigating an attempted retail theft incident at a Schuylkill County store.

Troopers said a white male entered the Sears store in the Schuylkill Mall, New Castle Township, about 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, July 13. He was observed by store security removing several power tools from store shelves and stashing them in a remote aisle before leaving.

A second suspect, a hispanic male, then entered the store with a Sears shopping bag and placed the tools into the bag and attempted to leave the store.

When confronted by store security, he dropped the stolen tools and fled. He ran to a vehicle outside where the first male that entered the store was waiting and both then fled the scene. The value of the tools was set at $320.

The first suspect was described as being about 20-30 years of age, five-feet, six inches tall, weighing about 185 pounds with blonde/balding hair and a goatee. The second suspect was about 20-30 years of age, six-feet, two-inches tall with brown curly hair.

Troopers said information concerning the two suspects is being investigated with charges anticipated.
