Auburn man cited in Tamaqua

Published July 12. 2013 05:06PM

An Auburn man has been cited by Tamaqua police after causing a disturbance at the Tamaqua Diner on June 29.

Police were on patrol at 3:01 a.m. when a waitress from the diner flagged them down saying there was an unresponsive male in one of the booths. The officers went inside and found George Llewellyn, 39, in a highly intoxicated state. Unable to rouse the man, the officers called for EMS.

When EMTs arrived they again tried to wake Llewellyn. At this point he began swinging his fists at the officers.

He was cuffed, identified and taken to the police station, where he spent several hours in cell block. When sober he was released with citations for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
