A vehicle stop along Interstate 80 in Tobyhanna Township, Monroe County, on July 3 has led to drug charges.

State police at Fern Ridge said they stopped a vehicle about 3:57 p.m. for going 83 miles-per-hour in a 65 zone. While the trooper approached the vehicle, a Acura TSX, he could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the passenger side. A search of the vehicle resulted in suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia being found.

As a result Justin Alexander Romano, 36, of Bronx, N.Y., the passenger, was arrested for possession and possession of paraphernalia. He was housed in the county prison in Snydersville pending a hearing.
