It will cost Northern Lehigh School District over $70,000 to replace doors at its middle school.

Three companies submitted bids to the district on Tuesday, with Weiss Construction, of Easton, turning in the apparent low proposal of $71,038.

That bid was $1,895 less than the next lowest proposal of $72,933, submitted by K&K Construction, Inc. of Slatington.

The only other company to submit a proposal was Mesko Glass, of Scranton, Lackawanna County, which bid $78,400.

Greg Derr, director of support services and transportation, said the bids came in slightly more than anticipated.

Derr said the district will pay for the work from out of its Capital projects account.
