Girl raises $600 for fire victims

Aliyah McHugh, 11, center, of McAdoo, decided to open a lemonade stand to help raise funds for a family of a a young girl who died in a fire that destroyed their home last month. Despite being rescued by firefighters, Madison "Maddie" Arner, 7, passed away two days later. In just three days, McHugh raised just over $600 for the family. McHugh stated that fellow girl scouts helped her man the stand. Aliyah's father, Kurt, is a paramedic and firefighter with the McAdoo Fire Company. With Aliyah are Katie Mourer, left, age 7, and Madison Savadge, age 6. All are Girl Scouts.
