Charged with hit & run after Mahoning crash

A Lehighton man is facing charges following a hit-and-run accident which occurred Sunday night in Mahoning Township.
Tyler Recica, 23, was charged with accidents involving damage to unattended vehicle or property, careless driving, and driving vehicle at safe speed.
According to police in Mahoning, on June 30, police responded to a hit-and-run accident that occurred sometime during the night on Mahoning Drive West.
Police said a utility pole was struck, and sheared in half. The driver fled in the vehicle and failed to report the accident. Several hours later the vehicle was located on Stedman Avenue in Lehighton.
As a result of the investigation, Recica was charged.
