Burglaries probed

State police at Lehighton reported investigating two burglaries.

Troopers said the residence at 3535 Summer Mountain Road, in Palmerton, Lower Towamensing Township, was entered sometime between Jan. 24-27. Removed was copper piping, a sump pump, a water pump, a kitchen sink fixture, and about 100 gallons of heating oil.

The home is owned by Andrew Joseph Jones, of Virginia Beach, Va.

The second entry occurred at the residence of Felicia Reinhart, 232 Squirrel Wood Court, Effort, Polk Township, Monroe County, sometime between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 8.

Removed from the home was a laptop computer.

A rock was used to smash a glass sliding door to gain entry, troopers said.

Troopers are also probing an act of criminal mischief. Unknown persons spray painted red graffiti on a gas pump at the Shell Service Station, 7605 Interchange Road, Lehighton.

The incident occurred sometime between Jan. 23-28.
