Arrest made in thefts at ski resort

State police at Lehighton reported the arrest of a New Jersey resident of thefts at the Blue Mountain Ski Resort, in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said on Jan. 26 Matthew Grant Stavewik, 18, of Pittston, was found in possession of a snowboard that had been stolen from a patron at the ski resort. Resort security called troopers to report the incident.

After a further review and speaking with Stavewik, he identified two others from Frenchtown, N.J., as being involved.

Police also said Stavewik was found to have in his possession marijuana and other drug paraphernalia along with beer in his vehicle. The listed victims of the thefts were Yulia Kusher, of Newark, Del., Zackary Greytsman, Harrisburg, Colin Lamb, Princeton, N.J., Sam Klementovic, Exton, and Carrie Goodman, West Chester.

Troopers said the investigation is continuing into the theft of other snowboards.
