A Jim Thorpe resident is facing charges following incidents that occurred on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, along Main St., in Jim Thorpe.

Borough police said they stopped Michael L. Reinhart, 55, of 41 Leisure Lane, for a traffic violation about 4:03 p.m. At the stop Reinhart told officers that he had a concealed gun permit and a pistol in the center console of his car. Police secured the gun.

Reinhart displayed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. He was then placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) and transported to the Lehighton hospital for a blood test. The test result showed he had a .12BAC.

At about 5:39 p.m. police arrived at Reinhart's residence where he was released. At about 6:58 p.m. police were dispatched to the residence where they were informed by his wife, Lisa Reinhart, that she had found a hand written note from her husband that threatened the life of Theodore J. Searfoss.

As a result of the above police charged Reinhart with two misdemeanor counts of DUI, one misdemeanor count of terroristic threats, and a summary motor vehicle code violation.
