Numerous DUI arrests reported

State police at Lehighton reported on numerous driving under the influence arrests made by troopers recently.

On Sept. 21 about 1:07 a.m. Justin G. Leclair, 29, of Nanticoke, Luzerne County, was stopped along Weir Lake Road, at Meixsell Valley Road, in Ross Township, Monroe County, for several vehicle code violations. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest, troopers said.On Sept. 26, about 7 p.m., troopers stopped David Malvey, 19, of Shippenville, Clarion County, along Interstate 80 eastbound in Kidder Township, Carbon County. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest for DUI of a controlled substance.A passenger, Stephen James Runyan, 21, also of Shippenville, was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and was placed under arrest. Both charges are pending test results.On Sept. 28 about 11:02 p.m. troopers stopped John Norman Gifford, 54, of Palmerton, along Blue Mountain Drive, in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County, for a vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest.On Sept. 29 four DUI arrests were made.At 2:21 a.m. Brad Allen Kresge, 28, of Palmerton, was stopped along Boyer Farm Road, in Lower Towamensing Township, for a vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest.At 6:45 p.m. David P. Lubrani, 57, of East Stroudsburg, was stopped along SR534, near the Carbon/Monroe Line, in Monroe County after he failed to negotiate a curve while operating a motorcycle, and crashed. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest. Polk Township Fire Company volunteers assisted at the scene, troopers noted.At 10:42 p.m. Jared Klass, 26, of Lehighton, was stopped along Indian Hill Road in the area of Overlook Road, in Franklin Township, Carbon County, for a vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest.On Oct. 1 two DUI arrests were made.At 1 a.m. Marc Earl Stoss, 42, of Weissport, was stopped along Franklin Street in Weissport for a vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest.At 10 p.m. Robert Czwakiel, 59, of Jim Thorpe, was stopped along Kunkletown Road, at the Eldred Elementary School, in Eldred Township, Monroe County, following an incident at that location. He was found to be under the influence and taken to Palmerton Hospital for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results.Three DUI arrests were reported on Oct. 2.At 6:30 p.m. Mark Allen Solt, 45, of Palmerton, was stopped along SR248 at the Palmerton exit operating a motorcycle, for several traffic violations. He was found to be under the influence of suspected alcohol and a controlled substance. When being placed under arrest Solt became combative, troopers said, and resisted arrest. He was taken to the Palmerton Hospital for a blood test, where he continued to be combative and made several threats on the lives of the arresting officers and himself.He is facing resisting arrest in addition to DUI, troopers said.At 9:27 p.m. troopers stopped Terry Donald Klingel, 58, of Effort, in the area of Fairgrounds Road at Gilbert Road, in Polk Township, for a vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest.At 9:36 p.m. Michael S. Kleckner, 23, of Bethlehem, was stopped along Dorshimer Road, east of Middle Creek Road, in Polk Township, for several motor vehicle code violations. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest.On Oct. 3 about 1:27 a.m. troopers stopped Ralph Nebling, 25, of Gilbert, along SR33 southbound at the Snydersville exit, in Hamilton Township, Monroe County, for a traffic violation. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest.
