A young man escaped serious injury Thursday morning when involved in a crash along SR443 in Mahoning Township. The crash occurred at 9:30 a.m. in front of the entrance to 84 Lumber. Apparently a large box type delivery truck traveling east had stopped awaiting passing motorists to makes a left turn onto the drive way of the business when the young man also traveling east failed to see the stopped truck. He applied the brakes and slid a distance before striking the right rear portion of the truck. The car came to rest against the right side of the truck. The car suffered extensive damage especially at the driver's area. Mahoning township police are investigating the incident.
