Carbon man facing bad check count

Jim Thorpe police have charged a Carbon County man with a bad check count.

Police said on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, they received a complaint form Joseph Marzen, who is co-owner of Marzen Hardware, located at 315 Center St., regarding a bad check.According to Marzen the store received a check for $328.60 on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, from Scott J. Young, 25, of 106 Byron Lane, Albrightsville, for copper piping. Marzen further stated that the check was returned for insufficient funds.A certified letter was sent to Young, however, no payment was ever made. The charge, a misdemeanor two, was filed against Young after several attempts were made to contact him regarding the incident, police said.
