Drivers cited after Schuylkill crashes

Two Schuylkill County drivers were cited following one-vehicle crashes that occurred on Tuesday along county roads.

A crash occurred about 1:48 p.m. along Route 209 (Valley Street), in Blythe Township. State police at Frackville said James B. Harris, 40, of Pottsville, was driving a 1998 Dodge Stratus eastbound when he failed to notice a vehicle in front of him hit the brakes. Harris lost control of his car which struck the guide rail along the south berm. After impact the car crossed the westbound lane and struck an embankment along the north berm causing disabling damages.Harris was not injured.The second crash occurred about 1:27 p.m. along Route 924, south of the village of Sheppton, in East Union Township. Troopers said Daniel Paul Campbell, 23, of Frackville, was driving a 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue southbound when he lost traction on the snow covered road. The car struck the guard rail along the east berm, traveled across the northbound lane, and struck an embankment along the west berm where it came to rest.Campbell was not injured.
