Kirson Vasquez-Lantigua, 29, of Pocono Summit, was arrested by Pocono Mountain Regional Police at 2:10 p.m. Jan. 16 after police responded to a burglary in progress at 6298 Laurel Road in the Stillwater Estates section of Pocono Summit.

He was charged with burglary, criminal trespass and related offenses.

Police said they responded to the home after a witness observed an unknown male break into the home. Within minutes of the report, police said they sealed off the residence and then deployed the department's K-9 to search the residence. After the dog was unable to locate anyone inside the residence, police said they activated the department's SWAT team due to the possibility of the burglar being armed.

Police said the SWAT team found Lasquez-Lantigua hiding in a corner in the attic of the residence.

Prior to the search, police said they observed footprints in the snow leading to the residence and also noticed there had been forced entry to the property.
