Pocono Polar Bear Plunge slated Feb. 17

The 13th annual Pocono Polar Bear Plunge will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at Henning's Pond, Albrightsville. Interested individuals must preregister at Robert Christian's Restaurant, Route 940, Pocono Lake or by calling (570) 646-6600 by Feb. 12.

The festive event is very exciting, yet may be dangerous to one's health. Participants must sign a liability waiver for swimmers only and pay a fee to defray expenses. Each registered participant will receive a commemorative gift and hot food and beverages. Snacks and drinks will also be available for purchase by spectators. Excess revenues will be donated to Make a Wish Foundation for Northeastern Pa. as a small token of appreciation for their excellent work making wishes come true for children between the ages of 2 and 18 who are suffering critical or life threatening diseases.All spectators are encouraged to donate to the foundation.
