Three teens are facing charges in Monroe County stemming from the theft of a van.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said on Monday, Jan. 7, about 4:34 p.m. they were called to the intersection of Pine Hill and Winona Road, in Mt. Pocono, after a construction worker spotted three black males driving away in a 1995 Plymouth Voyager van. The owner of the van quickly dialed 9-1-1 to report the theft and police saturated the area.

While searching for the van a second call was received about the same vehicle being abandoned on Belmont Ave., with three black males running from it.

Within moments Pocono officers had the three in custody. They were identified as James Williams and Jamal Williams, both 18, and of East Stroudsburg, and a 14-year-old from Mt. Pocono.

The three were charged with theft, receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of an automobile, and criminal conspiracy to commit all of the stated charges. Additionally, James Williams was charged with false identification to law enforcement and both Williams were also charged with corruption of a minor. The two Williams were committed to the county prison in Snydersville.

The juvenile was placed in a detention center pending a juvenile court hearing.
