Man cut with knife during altercation

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks are investigating an aggravated assault incident that happened at 8:55 p.m. Jan. 5 on the jug handle of Route 61 southbound in North Manhein Township.

Police said the victim, Robert C. Lutsey of Pottsville, sustained a cut in the face after a man retrieved a knife during the incident and assaulted him.

Police said a fight began in a car of the accused's mother, Paul Alvin Daubert Jr. of Pine Grove, while the mother was driving. Police said Lutsey and Daubert exchanged several punches after which time the driver pulled into the gore at the jug handle. Police said Lutsey and his unnamed girlfriend tried to flee the vehicle, at which time Daubert retrieved the knife, exited the vehicle, and cut Lutsey. He and his girlfriend fled on foot northbound on Rt. 61 while Daubert fled south on the highway.
