Crashes probed

State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers.

A two-vehicle crash occurred about 11:40 a.m. on Feb. 22 along Interstate 80 at Exit 274, in East Side Boro, Carbon County.

Troopers said a 1989 Cadillac Deville, operated by Gary E. Reiner, 46, of White Haven, ran into a 2013 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Nada Hajjari, 48, of Vancouver, Wash.

No one was injured. Reiner was cited for careless driving.

A one-vehicle crash was reported at 5:29 p.m. Feb. 22 along Evergreen Hollow Road, near Spring Lane, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Elijah J. Tapia, 18, of Kunkletown, was driving 2002 Hyundai Elantra southbound and negotiating a right curve when the car veered off the east shoulder, then west across the road and down an embankment where it overturned.

The car then caught fire. Tapia was not injured.

A one-vehicle accident occurred about 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27, along SR715 in Jackson Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Lauren A. Ventriello, 20, of Cresco, was driving a 2005 Suzuki northbound when she lost control, traveled across the southbound lane, and struck an embankment on the left shoulder.

Ventriello was not injured but the vehicle had to be towed. She was cited for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.
