Published February 25. 2013 05:03PM

A Carbon County teen was one of two drivers involved in a crash that occurred about 9:18 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, at the intersection of state routes 895 and 443 in East Brunswick Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said a 17-year-old male from Lehighton, was driving a 1997 Jeep Cherokee eastbound on 443 and approaching the intersection when he failed to negotiate a right curve in the road. The Jeep spun and left the road on the left side and went into a grass area.

The Jeep continued to slid east and entered onto 895 and struck the passenger side of a 2009 Mack truck driven by Jesse A. Sager, 28, of Annville, Lebanon County, who was eastbound on 895.

The teen driver and two passengers, two females, ages 16 and 15, and both from Lehighton, were injured but did not require immediate medical attention. Sager was not injured.

Troopers said the teen driver was cited for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.
