Alissa Byerley and Christopher Mathisen exchange vows

Alissa Byerley, daughter of Lynn and Nancy Byerley of Palmerton, and Christopher Mathisen, son of Thomas and Cathe Mathisen of Lehighton, were united in marriage on Aug. 25, 2012 at the Old Homestead Tree Farm in Lehighton.

The Rev. Anthony Pagotto, of Lehighton, officiated the double ring ceremony.Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose Jennifer Fisher of Effort to be her maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Amy Zeiser of Slatington and Amanda Mathisen of Lehighton.Jason Mathisen of Lehighton performed the duties of best man. Ushers were Josh Smith, Macungie, and Benjamin Mathisen of Lehighton.A reception at the Old Homestead Tree Farm followed the ceremony.The couple honeymooned in Antigua.The new Mrs. Mathisen earned a doctorate in physical therapy from the University of St. Augustine. She is currently employed as a physical therapist by the Blue Mountain Health System.Mr. Mathisen earned a physical therapy assistant degree from Penn State University.He is employed as a physical therapy assistant at HCR ManorCare in Bethlehem.The newlyweds currently reside in Lehighton.
