Cooking for Crowds class slated

A Cooking for Crowds workshop will be held March 12, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., at the Penn State Extension office in Monroe County, 724 Phillips St, Suite 201, Stroudsburg.

This class is geared to help organizations like churches, fire companies and schools who host large community event fundraisers.

Topics will include foodborne illness, why risk it?; the causes of foodborne illness; preventing the conditions that lead to foodborne illness; safe purchasing, storage, preparation, and service for a crowd; cleaning and sanitizing; planning a safe event; and general guidelines for events.

There is a cost for the class. Pre-registration is required by March 8.
