Zoning officer reports no news on Wingert and 57 Hotel property

Published February 15. 2013 05:03PM

The Eldred Township board of supervisors approved, 3-0, the Ernest III and Diana A. Laudenslager minor subdivision.

In the report of township zoning officer, Ellerslie Helm, he said there were no building permits issued in January and that the case with Paul Wingert for running a waste station from his residence is still in litigation. Michael Kaspszyk, the township solicitor, added that Wingert is in contempt of court and the next hearing is for March 28.

Resident Joe Cardella asked if there was any update on the 57 Hotel fire damaged property. Helm said that the owner is still in litigation, so no clean up of the property can be done yet. Kaspszyk wondered if the property has been secured and Helm said there was nothing left for anything to be nailed to, to make it secure.

Supervisor/secretary Sharon Solt said that Helen Mackes, the township's real estate tax collector, is recovering nicely from her recent surgery.
