Man jailed for violating PFA

A Schuylkill County man was jailed on Monday, Feb. 11, after he violated a protection from abuse (PFA) order.

State police at Schuylkill Haven identified the suspect as Joseph Francis Krasnitsky, 46, of Pottsville.

According to troopers Krasnitsky made contact with a friend of Linda Lou Flail, 49, of Pottsville, who had the PFA order, at her place of employment at the Fairlane Village Mall, in Norwegian Township. He made a threat of Flail and told the friend to pass it along to the victim.

Troopers said the PFA order prohibited Krasnitsky from making any contact with Flail directly or through a third party.

Troopers went to Krasnitsky's residence about 2 p.m. and observed him inside the home. He had locked the door and did not respond to troopers. With the assistance of Port Carbon and Saint Clair police, troopers entered the home and found Krasnitsky hiding in the insulation of the attic.

He was taken into custody and arraigned before District Judge Carol Pankake, of Tremont, on a charge of indirect criminal attempt. He was placed in the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post bail, troopers said.
