Police nab man sought by bail bondsman

Published February 09. 2013 09:02AM

Tamaqua Police, acting on a tip, picked up a local man wanted by the Luzerne County Sheriff's Office and a bail bondsman.

Bruce Layton, 22, was taken into custody on Feb. 1 at 434 Arlington St., Tamaqua, after a representative of Accurate Bail Bonds received a tip that Layton was at a Tamaqua residence.

Initially, despite activity being observed in the home, no one answered when officers knocked on the door. After repeated attempts, a woman answered the door. When officers showed her the warrant for Layton, she admitted he was hiding in the front room.

Officers searched the residence and found Layton crouched in a box near a front window. He was taken into custody without incident and then transported to the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville, where he was incarcerated.
