Allegedly failed to pay for meal at diner

A Tamaqua man was cited by police on Feb. 4 after he failed to pay for a meal he ate at the Tamaqua Diner, 39 Center St.

According to the report, a Hispanic male entered the diner in the early morning hours, ordered and ate a meal, then left without making payment. He was unknown to diner personnel, but was kind enough to leave behind his cell phone.

Patrolman Peter Wysochansky was then able to identify the alleged thief as Marcello Russo, 35, of 111 Washington St., Tamaqua.

Russo was cited for theft of services.
