Lehighton council hoping to fill vacancies

Published February 02. 2013 09:02AM

Lehighton Borough Council said this week it is seeking applications to fill vacancies on various boards and commissions.

Two vacancies exist on the three-member Police Civil Service Commission. The appointed terms are for six years.

One vacancy had existed since November, then at this week's council meeting it was noted that George Tkach resigned because of personal obligations.

Brenda Koons, borough secretary, said other vacancies are:

• Zoning Hearing Board, five year term.

• Property Maintenance Board, alternate position, five year term.

• Vacancy Board, one year term.

Koons said any interested resident of the borough may apply for any of the positions by sending a letter of interest to the Borough Secretary, P. O. Box 29, Lehighton, PA 18235.

The next meeting of Lehighton Borough Council will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 11 in the Municipal Building.
