February 2, 1940 Nesquehoning uses a big third quarter to help pull away for a 34-26 Black Diamond League victory over Lansford. Frank Sabol finishes with a team-high eight points for the Nesquers, who who extend a three-point halftime lead by outscoring their opponents 11-2 in that third frame. Paul Tyhala contributes six points to the winning cause while John Pancoe chips in with five. Nesquehoning, coached by Bill Griffith, also receives four points from Johnny Watto.
